The Temple of Heaven is a UNESCO-listed masterpiece of Ming architecture and cosmic symbolism, where emperors once prayed for harvests. It's a serene park filled with local life, offering a deep dive into Chinese spiritual and imperial history.
Arrive at 8 AM and go straight to the Circular Mound Altar to experience the echo before crowds arrive. Walk the Danbi Bridge from south to north, as emperors did, and note the central path was reserved for the emperor. On weekday mornings, join the tai chi groups near the East Gate for a local experience.
