Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring is a surreal desert oasis where singing sand dunes meet a 2,000-year-old spring, steeped in Silk Road history and offering stunning sunsets. A must-visit for its natural beauty and cultural significance.
Skip the camel ride; walk to the base of the main dune and use the wooden stairs to climb. For the best photo of the crescent, go to the smaller dune to the southeast, about 20 minutes from the spring. Bring a bandana or scarf — the wind kicks up sand that gets everywhere.
