中央大街
Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie) is Harbin's mile-long pedestrian boulevard lined with 71 European-style buildings, a living museum of the city's Russian and Chinese heritage. Free, open-air, and especially magical in winter when it glitters with ice lanterns.
Arrive before 9 AM to beat crowds and get clear photos of the architecture; the street is empty and the light is golden. Skip the main-drag restaurants; walk 2 blocks east to Hongzhuan Street for authentic, cheaper Harbin dumplings. In winter, wear non-slip boots—the bread stones get icy, and the northern end near the river is the most slippery.
