October is one of the best months to visit Xiamen: warm, sunny, and dry. Humidity drops, making it very comfortable. However, the first week is Golden Week, extremely crowded.
Light layers, a sweater for evenings, and comfortable walking shoes. Sunscreen and a hat for sunny days. An umbrella for rare showers.
Avoid October 1-7 if you dislike crowds; prices skyrocket. After Golden Week, it's ideal. Book everything well in advance if traveling during the holiday.
