June is warm and very wet, marking the start of the plum rain season. Heavy rainfall and high humidity can make hiking uncomfortable, but the waterfalls are at their fullest and the scenery is dramatic. It's a less crowded time to visit.
Pack lightweight, quick-dry clothing and a reliable rain jacket or poncho. Waterproof boots with good traction are a must. Bring a dry bag for electronics and extra socks. Insect repellent is recommended.
Be prepared for heavy rain and potential trail closures. Check weather warnings and cable car status. The Dragon Boat Festival may bring a small spike in visitors; book accommodations in advance.
