July is the warmest month in Lhasa, but also the wettest, with frequent afternoon and evening showers. Despite the rain, there are plenty of sunny intervals. Tourist crowds are at their peak due to summer holidays.
Pack a mix of summer and rain gear: short-sleeve shirts, a light sweater, a waterproof jacket, and an umbrella. Quick-dry pants and sturdy shoes are useful. Sunscreen and a hat are still necessary.
July is the busiest month, so plan your itinerary carefully and book tickets in advance. Rain can cause delays, so allow extra time for travel. The strong sun can still burn you even on cloudy days.
